From his start in the late eighties as a member of the landmark “Antwerp Six”, Dries Van Noten has quietly captivated fashion lovers with his understated approach to dressing. Humble shapes are thoughtfully rendered in rich materials – sampling silhouettes, embellishments, and color palettes from cultures around the world. The house does not advertise at all, yet for over twenty years Van Noten has cultivated a loyal clientele and even maintained control of his company, remaining independent in a climate of behemoth conglomerates. In 2008, the CFDA bestowed upon Van Noten the distinguished ‘International Award’, an acknowledgment of his quiet influence on the fashion world.
